February 23, 2024 - Medium to dark ruby color. Ripe dark fruit coming through on the nose. Mostly black cherry and luxardo cherry. A bit of peppery spice and some purple floral notes as well. Similar flavors on the palate with a cherry cough drop flavor profile. Lots of ripe cherry fruit, almost cherry jam. Medium acidity and tannin and body. 2018 was a somewhat riper vintage and that definitely shows in this wine. This is one of the rare occasions that a cru bojo was better on its own than with food. So much ripe fruit coming through that it didn't pair well with dinner. Very nice wine though.

February 10, 2024 - OMG, opened and poured and the bouquet lept from the glass like a racehorse! Dark fruits, spices -- a cornucopia of various aromas too complex to separate out from each other. On the palate, the wine was velvet, perfectly in balance with perfect fruit, acidity and tannins soft as a baby's bottom. The wine had depth and tactile substance not often experienced, and with unbelievable length. This was the best wine i have tasted in years! One more in my cabinet!!!

January 22, 2024 - Opened and did not need to decant. Was accessible within 20-min. Still fresh, vibrant, and juicy, even for the hot vintage. Perfumed nose of potpourri, cloves, lavender, and forest floor. The palate is medium, square, and crunchy, bringing an earthy/rustic core of strawberry-rhubarb mixed with more cloves, wood smoke, and some high-toned cranberry notes. Drink 2024-2028. Technical score: 91. Enjoyment score: 93.

December 14, 2023 - Pale to medium ruby, unfiltered
Aromatics medium+. Fresh cherry and strawberry with brief banyard/manure. Candied jolly rancher type note, but not overbearing. Later some dusty earth.
Palate has a medium body. Acid medium +. Tannins fine and medium. Alcohol medium. Bright acidic cherry, crunchy fruit with great tension.
Finish has a medium length. Balanced
Classic cru Beaujolais. Drinks well now, years of aging if desired.

November 18, 2023 - Superbe nez qui Morgonne, very nice ripe red berries, freshness, animal… Taste is absolutely delicious, sappy red cherries, crisp acidity, loads of nice ripe fruit, good tension… At the level of a good 1er Cru Cote de Nuit!!

October 20, 2023 - Dark rich and fresh. Peppery spices, thyme and alcohol up front on the nose. Dusty and balsamic on the palate, broadens out well. Some savoury cherry notes. Quite a structure, not a fruity one, but showing really well tonight.
Again another serious Beaujolais that kicks the Occidental freestone (in the same vintage) of it’s feet easily

October 19, 2023 - Quite good, similar to previous bottles. It’s a tad on the ripe/fruity side of things, but still plenty of energy to keep it interesting.

October 7, 2023 - Like the other Foillard's 2018s, too big and ripe.
