November 26, 2023 - A little murky in the glass, aromas / flavors were earthy, dried fruit, a bit tired on the palate. This bottle seemed on the decline in comparison to a bottle from the same lot a few months ago.
August 9, 2022 - A go to wine for us when we want purity of expression and unpretentious integrated complex fruit. We just keep drinking and then have to find more of vintages ready to drink. Quite full round in the mouth black and red fruit, a touch of herbs and smoke. Great with red sauces, steaks, duck.
November 4, 2021 - dark fruits, slight vegetal note.
September 28, 2021 - Medium ruby in color. Raspberry, strawberry, red cherry, sanding sugar, smoke, iron, musty earth, and sweet cinnamon. Red raspberries and rhubarb on the palate . A dry wine with medium plus acidity and structured tannins. A soft touch of vanilla that fades to the tart/bitter sensation of eating fresh cranberries on a lingering finish.
August 7, 2021 - No notes taken.
May 3, 2021 - This is a very intetesting grenache at a great qpr. This is not chianti or sangiovese so it doesn't have that acidic profile. It is very soft and floral with a hint of a Tuscan profile. Worth a try if for nothing else to expand your palete profile.
April 17, 2021 - This is one of the best QPR wines I have encountered. Full in the mouth of black fruit, raisins, and fern. Some complexity, so more mint and bit of leather on end. Luscious without being fat.
February 4, 2021 - Slight Garnacha/Cannonau personality present, but pretty drying on your tongue. I used it for beef Bourguignon, and that was amazing. I'd definitely buy it again in the future for cooking--but not so much for sipping.
December 25, 2020 - Deep crimson; black cherries, blueberries, tar, tobacco, wood smoke; ripe cherry/pruney, slick, full body, decent acidity, good heat, some structure, chewy tannins, lingering finish
Ripe and brooding with noticeable alcohol and tannins. A big wine that goes with food due to the acidity.
December 5, 2020 - Bit of a dry taste with a slightly sweeter finish. A lot of tannins present; enjoyable to drink, but I've had better Cannonau.
