August 30, 2021 - 89-90pts. This was a disappointment - it resembles upon opening a mass-produced Chilean Cabernet Sauvignon, and those retail at $5, not at $20-25 like this bottle. Its fruit is of good quality, but seems to be a but too ripe. Also the wood treatment seems to have been a little excessive. But it offers decent complexity after some air, and has some staying power in the mouth. 86-87 points initially, but oxygen rescued it somewhat.

June 19, 2021 - Tight and pleasantly austere, with notes of black currant, green bell pepper, and saddle leather leading the way. Blackberry and oak emerge with more air time, and dusty tannins linger on the medium finish. Nice value.

May 1, 2021 - 85% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Cabernet Franc, and 5% Carmenere. 80-year-old dry-farmed organic vines from the famous Clos Apalta vineyard. Good balance of ripe dark berry fruit with typical Chilean herbal notes which fade and integrate. A little fresher and more elegant than most in this price range though and that’s the nature of the vintage. Great balance and freshness. Medium+ bodied.

February 12, 2021 - This is a big, rich, and full-on Cabernet. Aromas of dark berry, blackberries, all-spice, dried florals, leather, cedar, pencil shavings, vanilla and toasted oak. The palate is full-bodied with dark jammy fruit, spicy notes, crushed nuts, plenty of oak with big structured tannins, and a rich finish. Fantastic QPR wine, you would pay twice this if not more in California. 91++
