August 29, 2022 - Good to drink now with little airing. Not as complex as I remembered but still very nice. maybe time to finish drinking soon.

    July 25, 2021 - Nose
Sweet oak, savoury at the backdrop, black berries , used leather, fruits are more muted,

    Palate,
Velevty tannins, light acid to bring that freshness, deep black fruits. Black currant

    My take
I won't say I like it nor I hate it. It is typical Aussie blend. Good complexity nice freshness despite the age, would like it more developed and more nuances with it. Nice palate as compared to the nose.

June 12, 2021 - Deep garnet to mahogany rim.
An expressive nose of jujube fruits (sandalwood) and dark fruits along with euclpyt, prune, liquorice and dried rosemary.
A soft, warm entry filled with spicebox and sweet texture, mouth filling with oak tones. Medium-bodied, it feels sanguine with plenty of fruits: black berry, mulberry and dried black currant. A long finish with more granular feel, medium+ acid, a hint rose oil, juicy and very enticing.

March 5, 2021 - One of Australia’s greatest families of wine and a class act throughout their range. The Keyneton Euphonium is a classic Australian blend of 65% Shiraz, 20% Cabernet, 10% merlot, 5% Cabernet franc. The fruit is all dark red and purple in colour and the nose is full of plums, black current, cherries with a touch of spicy pepper. The 2012 is a very good vintage of this wine but frankly, Henschke seems to deliver pretty much every year with incredibly consistent results. The flavour profile does indeed bellow like a euphonium - medium to full in body, harmonious and mellifluous on the palate. Lovely dark, ripe fruit that is well integrated with plush tannins The price point is wonderful value when compared to the price of its bigger brothers in a range which is headed by the king of Australian single vineyard Shiraz in the Hill of Grace. I guarantee that when you open this in front of your dinner guests they will be impressed - it is a class act that always delivers quality and is a wonderfully enjoyable red. 92 points and special value star.
