October 16, 2023 - Slightly meaty aromatics. Ultra clean palate. Sweet, intense, persistent.

August 28, 2011 - Bottle generously brought out for a multi-course meal - excellent condition. I have not liked the newer Leroy wines finding them too dense, woody and unburgundian, but this bottle was sublime. This wine was truly 'sauvage' at the outset with big, animal scents calming down over one hour to a lovely, complex wine with earth and sous-bois constantly building and changing offering more and more smells, getting better and more compelling and then it was gone...it had us saying "backberry, blackberry, blackberry"

After 45 minutes or so, it turned into a quite beautiful wine all around. Delicious.
