  October 29, 2023 - I understand why bonanza is divisive, but it’s still a crowd pleaser. It’s easy drinking and has many qualities that let this hover on the edge of complexity. Very fruity and dark yet medium bodied and easy drinking

  March 1, 2022 - Very fruity and a bit sweet. Not really a typical Cab profile. Drinks more like a red blend. Easy drinking by the glass during cocktail hour or relaxing in the evening. I expect it would get lost with anything meaty. Might go well with a red sauce pasta or pizza.

  February 28, 2021 - N/V Bonanza Cabernet Sauvignon Lot 2 (California)
  This deep purple wine wafts major blackberry with a shot of mocha and a sliver of cedar. The taste is a blackberry bulldozer, almost sweet on the palate with decent acid but soft, ethereal tannins and a flavour arc that disappears quicker than the crazy crow that crapped on me yesterday. Yes, the warmth of the alcohol does linger and it’s very berry indeed but I was hoping for something more substantial from Chuck Wagner (owner and winemaker of Caymus Vineyards). Instead of Caymus Junior, this bruiser is about as nuanced and elegant as a Sauvignon Slurpee. If you’re a pie-in-the-face aficionado, it’s the Cab to grab.

  February 19, 2021 - I am a big fan of Wagner family wines. I think Bonanza is one of the best values in wine. Fruit forward and smooth drinking. Drinks more like a red blend.
