February 15, 2022 - This wine has with stood the test of time.

Very low tanins, with a great lasting finish of a nice cab.
November 21, 2019 - Lots going on. Seems to vacillate between a more forward Napa expression and that classic graphite Cab thing. Good either way. Not tired yet but certainly in a spot where you want to think about popping this. Terrific under the radar bottling. This ages better than the the private reserve in my limited experience.
February 23, 2017 - Very nice old wine. Fully integrated but little fruit remaining. Should be consumed in the next year.

March 12, 2014 - Not at all what I expected. This wine could pass for an aged Rioja. The nose shows mostly integrated oak elements; the wine must have undergone heavy oak treatment. The palate is soft, with excellent acid and very low tannin. I agree with Rezy13 that this is not a particularly complex wine...unless one were to count the diverse oak elements as layers. I would have appreciated the opportunity to sneak this into a blind Rioja tasting. Most tasters probably would not have been able to single it out. Stylistically, for those that appreciate Rioja-like wines, this probably has not peaked, as the acid is going strong. Not my thing, but without flaws.
May 21, 2013 - Dull ruby all the way to the rim, little signs of age; nose is ripe and sweet with an aldehyde note, tart dark fruit, and some bell pepper/jalapeno; very tasty, dusty, maybe a hint of clay, thought this was kind of simple but it was just so balanced it was unassuming.
March 17, 2011 - An absolutely beautiful bottle of wine. So sad to drink my last bottle. Perfectly balanced. Wonderful cedar on the nose. Long finish.

April 6, 2009 - Just as good as the one enjoyed in San Diego. Brough to Naha and paired with short ribs. Elegant wine at its peak.
