August 31, 2020 - fading fruit, and though the sweetness is also fading, but this is in its downhill phase
December 2, 2016 - Lots of petrol on the nose. Just as dry but thicker than last time. Fairly consistent notes from three years ago. Maybe even in better shape.
December 13, 2015 - Slightly golden in color; a little out of joint, but quite enjoyable.
September 7, 2015 - Still not in a great place -- never going to get there? Felt disjointed and out of balance; sweetness disappearing, which may be the cause of that quality (or lack thereof); expecting a dry riesling will change the perception...
October 26, 2014 - Better as an aperitif than dessert since it's fairly dry for a spatlese; drinking well.
November 22, 2013 - Golden yellow in color. On the nose there's a distracting scent of petrol and candle wax. Passed that, the wine is lovely. Fresh, piercing acidity on a Spatlese that comes off quite light & dry for a wine this age. With flavors of hazelnuts, almonds, lemons and honey. Finish is long and zesty. Good effort.
August 30, 2013 - Golden yellow color. Petrol, vanilla, apple and minerals. Kind of dry but balanced.
May 26, 2013 - still relatively sweet, also very delicious!
February 2, 2013 - Plastics. Apple, lime, and slate, hint of anise, with a fairly long lanolin/petrochemical finish. Dry for Spatlese, and a bit odd, but not unpleasant.
September 21, 2012 - The wine is a very nice looking golden yellow color. There is petrol, apples, stony minerality, white peaches, white pepper, and orange zest on the enticing nose. This is light to medium body with zippy acidity. Luscious, juicy fruit and minerals on the palate with nice citrus notes adding depth. The finish is full of fruit and citrus but only decent length. The sweetness is fully integrated so this is not longer a sugary sweet wine, it seemed more off dry. Not as rich and powerful as some of the older German Rieslings I've had, but still very enjoyable.
