August 3, 2019 - This wine is beautiful now. The nose gives slight cured meat integrated with dark fruit, plums, black berries, spice. Palate resembles the nose. Silky tannins, still some acidity. Enjoy it.

July 6, 2019 - Purchased upon release and pristinely cellared, this medium garnet wine now shows distinct bricking at the rim. Decanted from its sediment and serially tasted over the ensuing two hours, it exudes black raspberries, garrigue, clove, cocoa and lavender, but this particular bottle unfortunately also has a subtle stewed tomato component that is pervasive. Medium-bodied and with medium acidity, it has nicely integrated alcohol (13.5%) and fully melted tannins. The finish is medium-to-long and quite smooth, but the tomato perception persists. Perhaps this bottle was heat damaged prior to purchase, as it just doesn't line up with previous tasting records. That said, it is[/i] 18 years old at this point. Drink now.

June 20, 2019 - Initially seemed maderized, blew off somewhat with air but not up to other bottles.

May 18, 2019 - Q2 - 2019 Tasting - Alsatian White Varieties from around the World (New York, NY): Kind of a bummer that this was heavily corked as a bottle from the same lot we had a week earlier was terrific. Oh well!

May 18, 2019 - Q2 2019 Tasting - Alsatian White Varietals (The Apt): Bonus bottle and sadly it was all wet cardboard. Bummer since I like this year in Rhone and I like this producer.
