December 2, 2023 - Stunningly youthful, fresh and expressive at age 50. So much of the classic mint/eucalyptus beams in the aroma and on the palate. Perfectly resolved tannin is seamless with the fruit. Just about as good as it gets from Napa.

February 15, 2022 - First time having the 73 Heitz Martha Vineyard - wasn't sure what was in store as I had no idea the vintage quality of 1973 - wine was still doing well, had your classic 60/70s Heitz Martha markers of menthol, cigar, cedar. Plenty of structure remaining on the wine, if to nitpick it doesn't quite have the volume of sweetness that the other vintages have, but could just be some slight bottle variation. Thicker viscosity on the wine with well-integrated tannins with that black tar feeling that give weight to the material on the wine.
