December 25, 2022 - Bright and juicy in a somewhat natty / Allemand-esque vein. Nice wine.

April 3, 2022 - quite dark purple. starts off with floral aromas of violets, roses and dark berry fruits like blue and blackberries. hints of stems / bell peppers, ink, nori seaweed and a touch of warmth from the alcohol. something earthy as well. the palate is powerful and concentrated combining similar floral and blue/black berry elements. there's a touch of spritz on the tongue as well, à la mosel riesling. inky concentration and good length. pleasant acidity with black olive tapenade bitterness at the end, and an inviting spritzy tartness to round things off and draw you to the next sip that's hard to resist
still young and fruity, but complex and serious enough for the finest dinner table. gracefully combines power and elegance. very enjoyable -

May 21, 2021 - Late night at Maison Dakota with J. Drank in Gabriel Standart. Never thought I would ever drink a Hermitage so young!
Appearance deep intensity, purple colour. Legs.
Nose pronounced intensity, with aromas of dark florals deep red roses and violets, bacon fat meat, dark sauvage earth, black peppercorns, chilli peppers spice, slightly over-ripe rotting fruit - maybe a bit of that banana bojo thing I suppose. Developing.
On the palate, dry, high acidity, high alcohol (14.5%), fine high tannins, full body. Medium+ flavour intensity, with flavours of black pepper, chilli peppers, dark sauvage earth, dark meat, blackberries, hint of fermented vegetables. Long salty bacon finish.
Very good quality. Natural style Syrah. May not be everyone's cuppa tea. More substance and serious punch than the Crozes and St Joseph wines from the Dard Ribo duo. I would say re-explore again in another 4-5 years, though I don't think this is the 20 year kind of Hermitage.
Day 2/3 - Incredibly black peppery spicy and charred meat and finishing with sweet bandung rosewater.
