February 24, 2023 - My first bottle of the Galitzine vineyard offering from Quilceda Creek and the one I was most looking forward to trying of all their wines. Opened and decanted straight from my wine fridge at about 54 degrees. Nose was very fruit forward; black cherry and plum (dark fruits) and some sweet baking spice. A little bit of the tannin smell as well that reminds me of bananas. I splashed a test sip into my glass from the decanter and was pleasantly surprised with its taste and noticeable sediment. It was more integrated than I thought it would be but not at its peak by any means. Very silky even at this young age and noticeably softened. The color had lightened as well from the usual concentrated purple that a younger wine tends to have. Pouring a glass the taste was similar to the nose with dark fruits and baking spice. A little earthiness/forest floor note in the background. I was hoping for some minerality as red mountain is known for producing grapes with that characteristic but I didn't detect any. Perhaps as the wine ages more more flavors will present themselves, especially as the fruit softens and gives way to more pronounced secondary flavors. As other reviews have said this wine is in a good place now to be enjoyed but could still improve with more age depending on your wine tastes. Still a detectable amount of bitter tannin present as well as alcohol heat. One of the best wines I've had in my wine journey thus far. I have a few more bottles left and will look forward to how this vintage continues to evolve. Score of 96 now but room for improvement with more age.

November 24, 2022 - Slow ox. Blackcurrant and blackberry. Spicy and chocolatey. Incredibly rich! Long drying and slight bitter finish. Very nice oak integration (to my delight). Really delicious! Galetizine doesn’t get the same hype as the Champoux but, it is the Quilceda to seek out in my opinion.

September 29, 2022 - Bright floral nose. Rich on the palette with some remaining tannin and slight bitterness on the finish. This is nice now but given the fruit/tannin profilewill be amazing in 5-10 years.

August 21, 2022 - Beautiful ruby color. Decant in glasses for an hour. This wine has a nose of blackberry, black current and floral herbs. Blackberry immediately across the palate then a bit of spice and chocolate. Pleasing tannin balanced with a bit of acidity. Ready to be enjoyed today!
