March 12, 2021 - Nice, steady chard....tart tropical lemon, vanilla and good matching acidity. Great with cod in a spiced butter sauce. Steady wine for the price.

November 18, 2020 - Usually one of my go-to's........along with the Durell chard. This vintage comes across more like the pretty pedestrian Sonoma Coast chard offering, and I'm not sure why. There's plenty of acidity and decent fruit but I think the barrel treatment clouds the product. It's off somehow, or maybe just in an awkward integration phase? I purposely waited over 4 hours for the last glass to open up and it still seems to be in some funky, oaky place. Nice but nothing memorable from this bottle.

Addendum: this last glass was not worth finishing last night so I left it in the glass, open on the counter til 1pm today. The overbearing, out of sync oak has resolved to a great extent, the acidity plays really well with the chard fruits....more pleasant today for sure, if not now, just a tad flat, maybe a 90-91 but jeezus, I shouldn't have to decant a chard for 18+ hours, should I? What's going on with this '18 fruit???

July 19, 2020 - This bottle much better than the first, and as expected from prior vintages. Great typicality for Sonoma Coast Chard: Pineapple, almond and honey on the nose; pineapple, sweet butter and creme brûlée's on the palate. A little fat and sweet on the finish, or would have merited a higher score. Good effort.

July 2, 2020 - A very nice Chard that straddles the line between big and buttery and stainless steel austere.
