April 2, 2024 - PnP and paired with buffalo chili. A dark ruby in the glass, the youthful nose beckons with raspberry, dark cherry, forest floor, and oak spices. An exuberant youthful palate, with very good intensity and concentration along with decent acidity; don't notice the 15% ABV. Still on the young side, may improve yet.

April 2, 2024 - PNP. Drank over the evening. Blueberry, raspberry a bit of bramble and vanilla. Full bodied, low tannins, enough acidity to provide some drive to go with the voluptuous flavors. 15% ABV, well managed, only a little heat on the finish.

November 17, 2023 - PnP. Nose of raspberries, spice, floral notes, and pine wood. Rustic red raspberries with other wild berry and plenty of spice and earth. Half-resolved tannins, red raspberry, a touch of rhubarb pie, and light oak and acidity.

August 31, 2023 - PnP. Pungent perfume nose loaded with purple floral notes and wysteria. Tart, narrow purple fruit with an acidic attack, widening out on the palate with lavender, unripe raspberry, rhubarb, and spice notes. Taut tannins fade quickly into raspberry fruit and acidity on the finish. Smooth but quite acidic.

August 19, 2023 - Opened, poured and let sit about 45 min. Then: Maybe some darkish/reddish fruit on the nose. Taste is bright red fruit, but acidity is a bit too bright/out-of-balance at the first few sips. Acidity then mellows out and nice red fruit carries into the finish, although maybe a touch of over-ripeness is there as well (maybe that's the effect of the 15% abv). Tannins not an issue; medium mouthfeel. I liked this, but sort of monotone taste limited its rating.

May 28, 2023 - This is now the third vintage of Carlisle Piner Olivet I have tried. I like this vintage considerably more than the 2017. Loads of bright fruit flavors. A very enjoyable spiciness - like baking spices. Decanted for 2 hours. Sure wish I had more!
