January 14, 2024 - Opened, poured and let sit about 30 min. Then: Maybe some darkish fruit on the nose. Taste starts off with a bit of reddish/darkish fruit, but is overwhelmed by the warmth/heat (15% alc) that carries through the finish; maybe just a hint of over-ripeness; acidity and tannins are OK.After about an hour from first sip, the warmth/heat has mostly receded and isn't quite as harsh, allowing more of the slightly reddish fruit to show. I'll give the next one of these more time in the glass for the warmth/heat to fade. That said, this isn't a style of zin that appeals to me. I seem to be saying that about many of the Carlisle zins, even the single vineyards, and over several recent vintages.

November 18, 2023 - A nose of bold sweet black cherry and spice, dark garnet in color. A full bodied Zin, with black cherry and smoky peppery flavors, jammy with a long finish. Always good every year. www.winelx.com

August 17, 2023 - Nice, well balanced zin that carries it's 15% abv quite well.

Brambly fruits, tar, 5 spice, and a bit of light cherry. Medium acidity and light tannins. In a good spot and we drank it without decanting.

April 18, 2023 - PNP. Bramble and blueberry. Pepper and some vanilla. Full bodied, alcohol shows a bit, medium acidity and tannins. 92/8 Zin/Petit Sirah. Nice fruit and I did enjoy this, but would have liked a bit more focus.

December 30, 2022 - This is not a pop and pour bottle. It needed at least an hour to burn off some of the acidity. Lots of raspberry and cherry fruit, but the tannic acid overpowers it a bit. We still drank the bottle 😀. But I’ll open my next one in several months.

September 29, 2022 - Boy, this is good. Ruby colored, balanced, red fruited. Satisfying finish.

In short, another solid effort from Carlisle.

August 21, 2022 - No notes on this wine, consumed at a party and didn’t get much of a pour. Also the hot humid weather was not conducive to proper evaluation.

September 28, 2021 - Good dark cherry fruit with a bit of spice. This is good now but will likely continue to improve for another couple years, so no rush to drink. If you do open the screwcap, the wine benefits from an hour to breathe.
