April 6, 2023 - This wine is produced from a 50-year-old vineyard and is hand destemmed. Mid-purple colour with fresh, succulent Bing cherries, blue flowers and sour maraschino cherries on the nose. Intense sweet fruit flavours on entry with cassia root, chopped stone and minerals adding complexity. The lively acidity tempers an avalanche of blueberry and red cherry compote. There is a delicate structure here with a thin blade of tannin. The finish is relatively long and closes with a whirl of fruit flavours on the back palate. Overall, this wine manages a good balance of gobs of sweetness and tight acidity.

    July 14, 2022 - (SYP) Tasted blind. I guessed a 2018 Beaujolais.
Aromas of barnyard, sour cherry and earth. The palate is soft, racy and quite fresh yet the finish is warm and slightly dry. A bit carbonic too. This is easier to enjoy than the '18 Chiroubles I had a week ago.

March 11, 2020 - Visite au domaine Lafarge (mars 2020) (Au domaine): Belle fraîcheur, moins floral, mais même beau fruit que les autres. Très bon. 90+ pts

February 11, 2020 - Barrel Tasting at Domaine Lafarge (Volnay): A little more grapey and tutti-fruti than the Fluerie. Very juicy with florals and fresh cut fruits throughout. Easy to enjoy. 87-88

February 11, 2020 - Burgundy, Day 1 (Beaune, France): Not as bright as the two Fleurie examples, this is a little more brooding and shows less of a vibrant mineral streak. On the palate, there's more of a dense, earthy character. Again an example of gamay that doesn't show those confected strawberry candy/artificial sweetener flavours.
