October 14, 2023 - Had with Yun and his friends. This wine is gorgeous. An incredible example of Rutherford Cab - big, lush, balanced. After an hour, it really settled in and the Rutherford dusty tannins were singing. So fortunate to be able enjoy this wine with great company

September 1, 2023 - Concentrated, balanced, lush, ripe, and packed with sweet blackberries, black cherries, vanilla, licorice, and cocoa. Yet, with all its layers of ripe, dark fruits, the wine remains harmonious and never swings to over the top. There is a touch of heat on the backend from the 15.1% ABV, but with all those ripe berries, it is easy to overlook that transgression. Drink from 2023-2035.

November 10, 2022 - Pop and pour. I never decant young Scarecrows because they tend to have magical transitions I don't want to miss. Initially, this showed a blast of flavor with earthy red fruit and fragrant flowers. It settled down into more of a standard California Cab for a while, then seemed to be transitioning to a better place just as we finished it. 94+

October 5, 2022 - Opened in the bottle for a few hours and it was ready to go. This is denser and dark than most 2017’s I’ve had also making it one of the better. That said not a lot of elegance here with ripe black/blue fruit, cassis liqueur, vanilla, oak, and baking spice. Again, this was good but doesn’t live up to the market price. This is more on the level of Realm versus Harlan. Drink now or hold five more years.
