April 9, 2016 - A mature wine that drank quite young - younger than our recent bottle of the 2006 vintage. Good red fruits, a surprising amount of tannins on the finish (for 2005), strawberries, raspberries, earth and some forest floor. We had this with grilled Atlantic Salmon (a great pairing) and wild rice; didn't go as well with our sauteed mushrooms. Really drinking quite well and everyone loved it. I bought this on close-out for $20.50 / bottle: great value!

April 26, 2014 - Wow, brambly classic bold RRV with a balance from slight minerality and acidity...even at 9 years old

October 25, 2010 - Typical RRV flavor profile with a bit of caramel oak and tiny bit of heat. Meh.

October 27, 2009 - Great fruit with an earthy nose that mellowed as it opened. Dark fruits.

March 18, 2008 - Family Winemakers of California (Pasadena, CA): Complex and refined with notes of strawberries, raspberries, red clay, earth, and minerals. A potentially outstanding wine that was unfortunately marred by a hot finish.
