    December 26, 2023 - Drank over 2 days. First half decanted for several hours, second half resealed and drank the other night. First night still with some reluctance, very good overall but clearly with upside potential. The second night much more open, rounder and profounder with notes of red cherry, raspberry, rooibos, white pepper, capsicum, cardamom and wet schist. Long aftertaste. Excellent village

    December 22, 2023 - Solid and good QPR. Lovely Vosne spicy aromatics with fine balance. An excellent villages.

    April 10, 2023 - Just seemed to be singing more last night than previous pass. Fresh dark berries and lots of loamy scents. Outperforming villages wine.
    Score : 92. Relative to expectations: ++

    January 22, 2023 - A bit too much vanilla from the oak. Concentrated. Revisit at least 3-5 years. It’s hard to predict how it will turn out. The potential is there.

    November 20, 2022 - An outperforming villages wine: exotic Vosne spices on the nose, along with a fair amount of vanilla from the as yet not really integrated oak. Palate is simple but satisfying and may gain some complexity over time. The ripeness of the vintage is on display but not to excess. Overall another solid success for 2018 villages level wines and another example of CLF’s underpriced and overachieving winemaking.

    Score: 91. Relative to expectations: +

    2 days later after simple bottle evacuation. The nose is actually a little better: more spice, more cherry, less vanilla. The palate shows more acidity and the tannins are a little rougher. I’d give an extra point to the bouquet and for now leave the rating on the taste the same, and that keeps the overall score the same. However I think this now crosses the line to higher expectations being met. Am I happy I bought a half case? Yes I am. Glad to see this house getting a little more recognition. They deserve it.

    Score: 91. Relative to expectations: ++
