March 15, 2024 - Friday Group Brown Bag Tasting (R&R's): Double blind. Garnet ruby color. Notes of clay, vanilla, red plum and dill. Red berry fruit on the palate with a touch of peppery spice lingering on the finish. As it opens in the glass there are notes of barbecue sauce and dried herbs. The palate shows some density- there's a chewiness here- along with lush red berry fruit. Guessed GSM blend- not really my style of pinot. (R&R)

February 23, 2023 - I have been fortunate to have tasted several of the Sedimentary Soil wines from Alexana and they are very nice. This wine is medium in body but knocking on full. Dark black cherry with mineral elements, oak, and slight spices. A fairly complex wine with several layers to unwrap while tasting. Of course, a food ready wine and one forgets about the layers and just enjoys. This guy has some good tannin and alcohol so one would think this should last in the cellar for several years. But then again, life is short to save good wine,

April 23, 2021 - What are the odds? I pulled this from the cellar to test drive and it was corked. Then I pulled a Kosta Browne Pinot and that was corked. Hoping 3rd time is the preverbal charm!

January 3, 2021 - Still young. Tasted more like a Syrah than a Pinot Noir. Needs a few more years of aging.

August 29, 2020 - I have been drinking Alexana wines for several years. This is probably the best single bottle from this producer I have consumed. It is a deep/dark, earthy and complex wine. It is not that old, but is drinking very well right now
