April 7, 2024 - My last bottle of this vintage and it goes out with a bang. The fruit is still lasting, which for a California chard is good. The aromas come out of the glass and the finish is moderate. I so enjoy Nick and Andy's wines (you too Vanessa). The drink window can be pushed another year or two, but I wouldn't try for more than that unless you are "testing" for longevity of wines.
September 22, 2023 - Drank this over three days and it morphed and improved during that time. Bright and saline and lemony on Day 1, full-bodied, svelte and expansive by Day 3. Delicious now, but will improve easily for the next 5 years, maybe longer. Well done!
The winery notes state this is now 80% estate fruit, which shows.
Sourced from the winery.
April 2, 2023 - Nothing has changed since my previous note on this particular wine. Yes, I dropped my score by 1....so?
February 5, 2023 - Aromas of honeydew melon, slight lemon and vanilla; flavors of pear mixed with lemon and vanilla with a balanced and mild acidity providing a mild finish with just a slight kick of oak. This wine is drinking well now and has another 2 years in the bottle, but why wait?
September 25, 2022 - Surprisingly in more of a creamy style than I'm used to from this producer. Full with flavors of white pear, ripe melon, kiwi and a trace of salinity. Oak is prominent and a bit heavy on the finish. Don't this improving much in the long haul. Good but not my favorite version of this wine
September 4, 2021 - Subtle and smooth, well balanced
August 31, 2020 - It got this rating after 2 days open - it needs the time, but fleshes out nicely with the air. Pear, white/yellow fruit, good acidity - it's lovely.
May 8, 2020 - Not a bad wine, everything in balance. But I just wanted more—more fruit, more tannin, more acid. A bit too understated for my taste.
