March 23, 2024 - High acid. Needs time. Compared with Double Diamond which was more suited to PnP. Hopefully the Regusci is delicious
December 25, 2023 - Good QPR.
July 9, 2023 - Good QPR Cabernet.
June 25, 2023 - This took 2 hours to unwind. The 18 has been a dialed back style compared with earlier vintages. Dark plums and cherries, chocolate, baking spice and a bit of cranberry tartness. Medium in body and length. A bit of chalkiness on the finish keeps the dark fruits in check
May 16, 2023 - This bottle was not as good as some of the bottles I’ve had previously, classic Napa cab notes, cherry, cassis, spice box, but the oak was a bit higher than I found it earlier just after release. It didn’ throw off the balance however and it’s still silky smith.
February 9, 2023 - I'll circle back tomorrow morning with a TN, but for now a PSA- I just decanted this and there was a TON of sediment.
The most of any bottle that I can remember of late, so make sure you take that into account when popping the cork, cause this one left some dirt.
January 31, 2023 - Still shedding oak, but nice dark fruit core once the sweet vanilla blows off after about an hour. Will be better in another year or two.
November 26, 2022 - The best QPR of the Napa 2028 vintage. Unexpected depth with great black cherry, cassis and sweet tobacco. This one is a thrilling wine.
October 21, 2022 - Upon PNP very primary and tart. Slowly got much more balanced with air. At 3 hours, it was really coming together. Perfumey nose with a nice loamy underbelly with plum, raspberry, and a bit of cassis flavor profile. Finish a bit short, so you're sipping often.
Very young, well certainly improve with a few more years but def can enjoy after giving it plenty of air time. Next bottle, if drank within the year, will give it at least 3 hours in the decanter.
October 16, 2022 - Still seems a bit young with a short life span on the tongue for me. Wait at least a year to try the next bottle.
