  March 28, 2024 - Deep cherry red color in the glass with engaging aromas of sour cherries, leather, fresh ripe raspberries.
  On the palate, a delightfully luscious medium bodied mouthful of the fruit flavors noted above.
  Excellent acidity and a finish is smooth with lingering fresh fruit flavor notes.
  Outstanding Chianti Classico.

  February 26, 2024 - decanted for 1 hr. unmistakeable ripe red cherries with rounded flavor and subtle earth notes. paired well with tomato based lentil vegetable soup.

  December 14, 2023 - Beautiful aromas of violet, rose and sour cherry. Tastes of dry sour cherry fruit with nice elements of earth, ferrous minerality and tobacco. Med+ acidity. Medium but drying tannins. Better on day 2. 90+

  December 11, 2023 - Beautiful seductive aromas of violet, cherry, cassis, cranberry, and some earthy aromas close out. The palate is not as alluring with flavours of cherry, cocoa, and black fruit. Fine-grain chalky tannins with medium acidity. Quick finish. One bottle is left to see if this redeems itself.

  September 9, 2023 - Fully decanted for about an hour before serving, notes of black cherries, plums, leather, and black pepper with a nice bit of toasty, woodsy oak underneath. Good acidity, bright-ish fruit, and woodsy-but-not-astringent tannic structure. Starts out as a very classic, rustic style of Chianti but the "Riserva" qualities help to smooth the finish and give the wine overall a rounder mouthfeel across the palate. Above average for sure, especially at the price (sub $28; current vintage is 2018, maybe 2019). Overall evaluation A- (92).
