February 4, 2024 - First of my new focus on tasting comparisons of Cal Pinot and Red Burgs Tasted with 2019 Hudelot-Noellet Chambolle Musigny, and the CM was more interesting. Seemed to have good structure, ready to drink, but more savory notes to make for better drinking. Zio Tony good and fruity, but lacking secondary notes. Give it time.

February 11, 2023 - Very solid Russian River Valley Pinot from a dependable producer. The Zio Tony hits the palate with bright strawberry, some dark chocolate and a little vanilla (I think). Nice mid weight body with a really nice berry finish. I prefer cabs to Pinot, but I do enjoy a really well made Pinot, and this one fits that description. We shared this with friends who are big Pinot fans and they loved it. Worth seeking out.

December 5, 2022 - This has calmed down a bit, but has dark fruit, chocolate, baking spices and finishes with some cola (but not overdone on that). Fuller bodied for a Pinot but not as bombastic as on release.

April 3, 2022 - PNP. Deep color, and deeply fruited. Filled with oodles of ripe cherries and boysenberries. Rich and full in the mouth. Can last for years, as it is still primary, but quite enjoyable at four years of age. 5-13-16-8: 92/100.

January 21, 2022 - Nose has baking spice, cocoa. Mouth is velvety with date pudding, chocolate, black cherry jam. Balanced on the big side with juicy acidity and good structure.
