June 21, 2018 - This is a beautiful wine that still has some life left. Took some time to open up and strut it’s pedigree but it evolved into a very nice bottle of wine after a solid decant. Notes of earth, red fruits and cherry cola notes. Stood up to the other younger wines in the group.
January 1, 2013 - Decanted for 2 hours. Bold, intense nose. Full body, fantastic structure. Tastes of red fruits, currant and plums. Moves into very earthy, herbal flavors with hints of thyme. Finish is rich and long, tasting of figs.
November 6, 2010 - Subtle complexities, but a bit thin. Not a powerhouse cab and a bit feminine for my tastes...
December 19, 2009 - boring - no structure
July 10, 2009 - A healthy expression pushing blackberry in front. Good use of oak with chewy tannins. Long finish.
December 25, 2008 - Wine is a lovely ruby red. Initially, strong cherry, strawberry & cranberry flavors, with a fair amount of tannins. After about 1/2 hour, the wine integrates becoming much more smooth with hints of cinnamon & vanilla. About 1 hour after decanting, this wine is much more interesting, less red fruit, and more dark berries & plum, and very balanced.
October 21, 2006 - One of my favorite reds at Fantesca's Harvest Party, preferred over 2002 vintage due to a touch more complexity.
October 20, 2006 - Another step forward for this winery. More complexity and depth than the 2002 vintage. Earth, leather, big frut on the nose. Well structured with big tannins and layered flavors and long finish.
