November 23, 2023 - Nose: strawberries, heavy autolysis, cherry. This was actually quite a bit better with an hour of air. Medium plus acid, medium plus body (for a sparkler on the palate). It's got the same orange spice/constant comment tea note that I think of in the Bedrock heritage from this vineyards. Overall, this is a really enjoyable (and distinct) California sparkler.

Drank thanksgiving morning with coffee cake.

August 7, 2023 - Light. Bright sophisticated not a typical rise sparking wine drank like a white. Small bubbles. Delicate food friendly. Nice to sip did I mention light?

October 16, 2022 - Quite refined CA sparkler. Great balance and lovely finish. I enjoy the hint of Zin flavor giving it another dimension that other sparklers can’t match. What fun for a Zin fan.

June 17, 2022 - Very interesting wine-fun and drinkable but there is a lot going on here if you pay attention. Subtle fruits, brightly integrated acid, entrancing finish, fine and creamy bubbles. Worth the price

November 6, 2021 - November 2021 Trip to Sonoma: Light strawberry nose, floral, really light color. A fine mouse with good acid, though maybe not as much acid as the Chuy. A bit of strawberry and basil on the palate. This is fascinating, and a very intellectual wine (while being delicious).

April 20, 2020 - Very different from prior UTW Bedrocks... generally I view this as the fun, mineral-driven but not deep or difficult (not quite frivolous... but...) wine in the UTW lineup. This, and brosseau. But this year: it’s not a rose. It’s BdN, and one that demands rather a different sort of attention. Has some complexity and depth. Not quite on the level with the ‘15 Oakville I had recently, but in a similar direction in I can’t quite name all the curves in the fruit. Has a little extra something. More serious, but yes, possibly a step less fun.

March 31, 2020 - Little early to open but quarantine will do that - still absolutely delicious, will rack the other bottle for some time. More notes to follow, but the most important for now is that the 2016 is NO LONGER A ROSÉ! Absolutely falls into a Blanc de Noir category as it is beautiful and golden.
