February 27, 2021 - Nose and palate of hay, not complex.

September 9, 2017 - I like it, but it's the antithesis of large Sherry cask Macallan. Subtle oak, caramel, vanilla, smooth and light.

July 24, 2016 - A single malt scotch tasting (Charlie's (In the Wood's of Newbury)): I have really liked the 17 but this was a pretty good sized step down from that it seemed. The nose was a bit harsher. Some wheat but also some vanilla and a woody note. Much smoother on the palate. The vanilla carries thru and the woody quality becomes less harsh and more interesting. Overall, I did really like this one. 4.0/5

June 19, 2016 - Can hardly remember having a good experience with Macallan. Maybe in the 80ies with a 12y.o. or a 10yo.
This one is just another example in a Long row of disappointments. Had a bottle and tried it very often over a Long period. Just shallow water. Boring. Sorry guys, don´t understand the Reputation of this distillery or let´s say "Macallan is just not my Cup of tea". Though I like Sherry-flavoured malts such as Glenfarclas and many others.

September 14, 2015 - Had been excited to try Macallan but this bottle wasn't anything special. It's a fine single malt, graceful and pleasing enough, but lacks distinctive character. An oaky nose leads to some sweet toffee and milk chocolate on the palate. Again, it is by no means bad, but I could readily name ten other single malts I'd prefer to drink. That's especially true when you factor in the price.
