July 3, 2022 - Medium light body, very fruity, berries, round.

May 23, 2022 - Opened not decanted. Sharp, fruit filled attack of red berry fruit. Medium weight in body. Ends with a bright red berry fruit finish with a touch of heat. Good but also a bit boring. I prefer the 2015 Cellar 33 as the rusticity gives it a youthful punch which the Ridge lacks and seems safe.

March 17, 2022 - nose: red berries and fruit! strawberry, blackberry

taste: doesn’t taste too acidic but does have hearty tannin structure. medium+ body. more juicy red fruit in the flavor, almost a bit meaty on its own. a bit of alcohol / harshness on the finish (but 15%)

February 8, 2022 - Similar to other vintages this carries a cool profile compared to a lot of Zins from the region. They kept the extraction low again, leaving this already somewhat translucent. Aromas of strawberry, wood, cranberry and juniper. This actually has mild tannin yet is a straight Zin. That might be explained by the hints of green. Maybe stems or skin. Again, not showing a lot of extraction or glycerin in the midpalate. Decent length. Carries it's 14.9% quite well. This could improve a bit over the real short term but I wouldn't lay it down. Another year would let this open a touch more. Medium cellaring probably warranted. I've wondered why they don't plant and mix some other grapes in with this like its neighbor, Lytton Springs. This vintage seems close to complete without the more structured grapes lending a hand.

January 21, 2022 - Deep red. Big fruit on the nose. Bold. Nice tannins. Long smoky finish.
