December 18, 2023 - This bottle was very good; super fresh and pure strawberry and red raspberry alongside mint, anise, violet, and a hint of pine; good depth for a rosso with lovely vibrant energy; still some structure so no rush, but if you want to enjoy the fresh fruit probably sooner.

Night 2 still just as good; lovely fresh fruit, mint and floral notes; vibrant, still with plenty of tannin, but with food excellent now.

December 14, 2023 - At Roscioli Salumeria, Rome: This was more restrained than I was expecting, lighter in body and tannin, but it grew on me -- maybe it was improving with air, maybe I was becoming more attuned to its ethereal appeal. Very drinkable, very good with food, a lesson in the virtues of structure rather than fruit.

September 12, 2023 - Opened the bottle for 5-6 hours. Put it into a decanter and poured a small glass. The fruit just jumps out of the glass. Beautiful bright red fruits, a hint of cinnamon, fresh flowers, roses and some smokey tar. Sour cherry and tannins are right up front. Needs time in my glass to unfurl. Just a few minutes in the glass and the wine unfolds into an ethereal drink. Sweet roses, faint cherry, notes of brown sugar and a bit of fresh squeezed oranges. Doesn’t have the weight of their Brunello but a really nice/different expression of Sangiovese. I’m not sure that at $58 per bottle this is a great QPR but my first time with their rosso. 92-93.
