April 29, 2023 - Candied lemon and Golden Delicious apple notes lead the way, with hints of melon poking through. Viscous, with oak emerging mid-palate and flexing through the finish. Could use more acidity, but comes across as a creme brulee hedonistic delight as is.

December 24, 2022 - Such a beautiful wine. Served as an opener for Christmas Eve dinner with M&H, this is at peak IMHO. Deep brilliant yellow. The Chardonnay leads on the palate right now with elegant Meyer lemon, ripe pineapple, crème brûlée and peach. The Marsanne and Rousanne add marvelous texture. And the Viognier lifts the aromatics. Might be the best aged Sanguis white I’ve tasted. Drink through 2023. Outstanding.

July 13, 2020 - Happy to be the first review on this great wine but also a telltale sign I probably drank this a touch early. Similar to other nice efforts from this producer, it comes out with a medium golden yellow despite only three years of age, so you already know it’s got a bit of complexity. On the nose, I got some very Burgundian notes of burnt caramel, baking spices and sandalwood, with appropriate medium acidity. Finishes with more earthly elements again, reminiscent of a Montrachet more than, say, a Rhône. The mix of varietals make this an interesting guessing game and depth of finish leads me to believe it’s got a decent life ahead of it. Will get more complex in the next five years for certain. Interesting, well crafted, absolutely collectible.
