February 13, 2023 - After a 3-hour double-decant, this bottle yielded almost nothing. However, it opened in the glass, and the very last glass produced perhaps the best Grenache I've ever tasted, with mixed black fruits (including dried nightshade/tomato), and interesting herbal nuances (camphor, eucalyptus), with lots of leather. The balance and finesse of this wine were extraordinary, once it was sufficiently oxygenated.
This wine needs more aging. If I could get more of this, I'd do it, and sit on it for a while. The QPR, @ $25 from Ancient Wine Guys, was excellent, for those who are able to age it sufficiently. This makes me want to explore Sardinian wines. -
