September 8, 2023 - Well, I guess I failed to let this last bottle hang around for too much longer. This was popped and poured at a restaurant. I felt this really hit its stride around 90 minutes after opening. Delicious.

March 26, 2023 - Decanted for 3 hours, then consumed over the next couple out of Grassl Cru. Opens with a nose of pear and baby powder. Palate brings lime zest, lemon, sea salt. Good weight with food-friendly acid. Last glass was the best -- give this some air and you'll be rewarded for your patience. I'll try to keep my paws off the next bottle for at least a few years.

November 9, 2021 - Tasted on day 2. Round apple and pear fruit. Some saline. Full bodied. Great balance and there is an interesting tension going on between fruit and acid. Medium plus finish.

September 19, 2021 - Tasted after 30 minutes of air. Some saline. Apple and pear. Plenty of verve and lift on the mid palate. Minerals. Not getting much oak like another tasted noted. A hint of nutty notes. Long finish. An excellent effort and I don't think I met anyone that has as much focus as Seth of making great chardonnay. An excellent effort.

July 2, 2021 - Absolute infanticide to open this now, however curiosity and "science" got the better of me. Day 1 - confused unbalanced, heavy oak nose, struggling to delineate flavours, disjoined (knees and elbows!) - not very pleasant. Day 2 - heavy oak nose is gone as it is muted, still seems unfocused on the mid palette - okay. Day 3 - nose remains fairly muted, on the palette much better delineation and clarity. Refreshing lemony citrus fruit, very pure and clean yet nicely restrained. Lovely lasting finish. Ideally best from 2035 when it would likely merit a far higher score. Bottled under Diam 10 with wax seal. Tasted from Conterno Sensory.

June 7, 2021 - Tasted blind. Pretty nose of apples, minerals, lime, and a hint of soap. Great acidity and excellent balance on the palate with notes of crushed rocks, and green apples. There's a noticeable richness, but the acidity keeps it in check. Quite long on the finish. Very good New World Chardonnay. 92-93+

October 24, 2020 - Consumed from a Grassl Cru glass.

A cornucopia of aromas on the nose. Flint, lime zest, green apple, pear, lemongrass, mint, and chalk. A little hazelnut and barrel spice make their way in on the back end. Bright and elegant, with silky texture, the flavors on the palate are marked by intense lime, spiced pear, and mint, with a touch of flint on the finish.

Really excited to see how this wine evolves with age, and to continue trying Seth’s lineup of fantastic OR chardonnays.
