February 16, 2024 - Let breathe for 2 hours, very balanced. Look forward to the next bottle.

December 23, 2023 - This was in an awesome spot & blewaway the 2908 Ontogeny served along side. Deep rich chocolate covered cherry in a lush hedonistic style that keeps balance with fresh cut of nice acidity. A real wow wine, drinking great now, but obviously no rush here.

November 4, 2023 - Loved this. Key takeaway for me is comparison to the 2016. I also loved that one—slightly more so. Hence, gonna leisurely wait on next bottle of the 2018 for a couple of years. But, really, Bevan is such a gift: It will be a winner no matter when you open a bottle. It’s whether you want the ribeye or filet, Goodfellas or the Departed, Nadal on clay or Federer on grass. You win!

April 16, 2023 - Two and a half hour decant. Nearly opaque, inky electric magenta color. Boysenberry, raspberry, blackberry, ginger snap, tobacco, and walnut. Smooth, dry, slightly viscous palate, with an interesting delay to the vibrant acidity. Firm, full tannins on the longish finish.

Surprisingly Bordeaux-esque for a Bevan, yet still has his telltale richness. My lady friend didn’t enjoy the palate and was likely leaning toward a 91. Regardless, I only see this getting better in the coming few years.
