March 29, 2024 - This was popped and poured, followed over a couple hours after a long week. Knowing we would finish it, I probably should have decanted.

The bottle was perfectly clean and sound. Sort of a right down the fairway expression. Neither reductive or oxidative, balanced without any overly assertive acidity, pretty regal but there is no significant oak on this wine. That’s been my experience so far with Lafon.

Showing a bit of heat upon opening, and seemed to gain some weight with air, which helped, but more concentration would have been welcomed. This 2018 still felt quite young, and yet, I would drink any others in my cellar over the next 5 years.

March 27, 2024 - This was lovely, quite open. Charming fruit with a touch of sweetness but with an energetic finish that keeps it all in balance. More-ish and versatile on the table. Good from now for next 4-5 years.

July 21, 2023 - On the nose: Tropical, Oyster Shell, Lemon/candied lemon peel. There is a air of artificial sweetness reminiscent of candy floss. Interesting at first but it evolved into much more. After some time, secondary and light tert notes. More of a caramel pineapple note/ Tarte Tatin note towards the end.

On the tongue: Lovely viscosity, medium acidity, great length and just a delightful "Mouth feel".

Really enjoyable wine and price was really good. (Tasted at La Sommeliere, Lyon).

June 2, 2023 - By the (tiny) sampling glass at Vagabond, City of London. Totally unique and frankly not Meursault-like on the nose, but I’m struggling to articulate why. I would have been utterly lost tasting this blind. Floral, creamy chard vibes. Saline, with a touch of buttery oak on the back end. Edifying stuff.

May 20, 2023 - Lovely dancing nose of hazelnut, lemon, a hint of oak. Beautifully textured palate with more lemon, medium+ density, long tart finish. Perhaps more ripe than classic Meursault but very pretty and enjoyable.

March 31, 2023 - Bruce’s 69th Bday Dinner @ Cafe Spaghetti …. Along with 2020 Bereche Brut Reserve and 2018 Burlotto Barolo… 2 of 5 Much more youthful appearance than the last bottle. Light yellow color, lovely nose of white flowers, yellow fruits, good minerality, lovely texture, nice youthful acidity and finish. Tasty to say the least

March 21, 2023 - White flowers, citrus and vanilla oak. Good weight and richness with moderate mineral attack. The vintage character is present.

February 25, 2023 - There was no hesitation in going for this once spotted on the list at Le Louis Vins, Paris. And there was not a second of disappointment from it .
Beautiful from the glossy bright soft straw colour to the singing nose of citrus , stone fruits and light oak. And of course the palate played along the same tune. Good to see this so vibrant and energetic and we felt this is the way this wine should be had. Easy 94
