Community Tasting Notes 5

June 22, 2021 - Tasted from a magnum which has been opened for 3 days.

This has really improved. The blue fruits have sweetened and a viscous mouthfeel has emerged. I am am thinking that these wines needs time as evidenced by how long this remained opened before tonight's consumption.

March 30, 2021 - Aromas of slight black cherry with mostly blue notes. Feels rather underdeveloped as the fruits seems green in mouth. The mid palette has a mouthfeel which feels viscous and unbalanced. Lively and acidic into the finish which actually lacks fruit compared to the more complex ones like asphalt, vegetable and red beets.

November 28, 2020 - Certainly "early" to consume this Napa cab but over two days it displayed the potential I was hoping for in this entry level offering. Typical aromas of red cherry, blue fruit and floral notes. Rich, full and pleasing on the palate with the tannin, alcohol and fruit well-balanced. held together on day two, with secondary notes not on display. Holds great promise with several years of cellaring.

August 18, 2020 - I have a glass here now and the nose is nondescript, but agreeable. The color is dark red to purple and needs time to open. After half an hour, it swirls on the palate with notes of dark black cherry and a hint of dark chocolate. The wine has a a pleasant but short finish. I would think this is not a complex Cabernet, but an enjoyable everyday wine

June 30, 2020 - An odd one for me. Dark purple, not much of a nose and the flavor Started with black cherry, then to blueberry then picked up a rhubarb sour to it. Its heavy and really coats the mouth. Not overly complex and for US$30, doubt Id buy again. Might improve with age and Im hoping so as I have another bottle. Ill let it set for at least a year and see.
