September 7, 2023 - Supple and harmonious, if not complex. Enjoyable though I wouldn’t spend hundreds on this

June 24, 2023 - Fine Wines SG - Chateau Palmer Grand Cru Tasting (Fine Wines SG): Medium deep ruby, with very visible stain on glass. Nose that was rather restrained at first, then has some fruits and oak spice. A big bite on the tannins, whilst quite intense with medium ripe cherry, then grass, twigs, and forest floor. Can see the challenge of the vintage, and that it still seems a bit closed off. May need a few more years to open up, but quite unsure of how much better it can be

April 29, 2023 - Underperforming, did not seem out of window. But after drinking the 2001, this did not fill the expectations. I do not see this improve with more time

December 11, 2022 - tasted blind. cranberry nose, bitter red fruited mouth, though lacked intensity. not bad but not special. tasted in a lineup so perhaps suffered from the format.

December 2, 2022 - Finally, I get to meet one of my wine heroes.. My first ever Château Palmer ❤️

66% Cab Sauv with 34% Merlot, tannins are just rounding up as it enters its 1st drinking window.

Cassis aromatics, velvety black fruits and a 1 min finish!

This Palmer 06 is only just entering its first drinking window. We decanted it at Lenzi Bangkok, and it seems only barely ready to drink.

Perhaps best wait until 2026 to kick off your first bottle, and by the end of this decade this may just be a 4.5 🌟 wine.

Some camps describe a preference for Palmer v Château Margaux, I reckon a side by side is needed at some point. For now all I know is I was privileged to enjoy my first ever Palmer with bro @Teck Kong at Lenzi Tuscan in Bangkok - A much delayed write-up from Dec 2022.

September 27, 2021 - 2006 Bordeaux Horizontal: The composure of the 2006 Palmer belies the bizarre weather conditions that defined the vintage for so many. There’s no trace of dilution or underripeness. The mixed black and red fruit, violet tones, and warm cedar are entirely typical to Palmer, if without quite the intensity or complexity of better years. This is an attractive Palmer for drinking now and over the next 15-20 years. 93(+?)

September 4, 2021 - Deep, glossy purple with a brownish and yellowy rim. Moderate sediment. Bouquet of truffle, cedar, tobacco, blueberries, plum, caramel, and vanilla. Velvet palate and fine, integrated tannins. Fresh with plenty of life still to go. This is an exquisite Palmer.

July 19, 2021 - Opened with friends and family and began drinking what I thought was a 2012 Alter Ego. First reaction was this is unbelievably good. On checking I realised I had opened by mistake a 2006 Palmer. (Not the night's first bottle). Let it breathe for a while then we all relished the mistake. Medium body, perfect balance, fresh and precise with black fruits - currants and cherries - tobacco, with tannins well integrated. Understated elegance. *****

January 17, 2021 - This wine needs a 6+ hours decant, and it was all gone before that, so no score. It was doing well at hour 3, but at hour 4, the tannin locked the wine, which made it un-pleasurable. Good potential and a distant runner. Just not a very good QPR. IMHO l’Eglise Clinet 06 is a safer bet at this point of time.
