March 31, 2024 - Fresh blackberry and sandalwood on the nose, then a classic GL mouthful of gently spiced blackcurrant and blackberry. Drinking beautifully, this is a very silky, elegant example of Gruaud. No, it doesn't have the concentration and body of the very best vintages, but it does have a lot more charm and finesse than the old Cordier GLs. Much better than the mid-90s vintages plus the other "classic" 00 ones. At 40 euros, this was excellent value. And a civilized 13% ABV.
NM dissed this again recently with a mere 87 pts. Each to their own.

December 7, 2023 - Fruit is still beautiful with balanced tannins. I did not decant but really improved after an hour. Elegant with subtle earth kirsch and leather undertones. Nice soft mouthfeel. I’m surprised it’s not fading. 2 bottles left. Decisions to make….

September 23, 2023 - This has developed nicely compared to my last tasting note from April 2020:

"Dark red-black colour, violet rims. The mouthfeel was really smooth, perfect tannins, earthy kirsch, oak, more leather than chocolate. Long finish."

Now, the rims have a light brownish touch, light rubber nose as well. Really nice after 4h in the decanter. Smooth palate with kirsch, light acidity and oak, integrated tannins, and leather.
I have one more bottle sitting in my cellar (42€ each some years ago), will revisit in 4-5 years.

August 6, 2023 - Lovely freshness with a core of red fruit and a hint of cedar. Very food friendly. Drinking well now, but no rush.

June 8, 2023 - So this is the exact definition of a luncheon claret... at least to me. This is a wine that screams for food: great nose, plenty of red berries, a meaty / ferruginous note, leather and a hint of sauvage. Great nose! The palate is a wonderful mix of tertiary notes with lively acidity and plenty of fruit. This was good on its own but nothing like a rare Picanha or fire roasted piglet (yeah, that was our lunch) to make it shine. This should be 30 bucks a bottle for everybody to enjoy at lunch. But times they are a-changing...

May 19, 2023 - Tasted in a lineup with 2004, 2005 and 2006. The 2004 and 2006 were quite identical: ready to drink now, integrated tannins, elegant, some fruit left, notes of cedar, cigar, some oak, quite classical Bordeaux. 2005 still needs time (if it will ever come to fruition).

July 9, 2022 - Black cherry, cassis and a bit of forest floor funk on the nose. The nose notes carry through to the palate with a warm perfectly balance mouthfeel with muted acidity and silky tannins. Lengthy warm finish. Hard to imagine this getting any better with more time in the bottle.
