January 22, 2012 - The life was definitely over for this particular bottle. very odd nose, tasted just OK but flat. let it open for awhile but didn't get any better.

September 16, 2011 - Light ruby color. Soft, light mouthfeel. Nice flavor Getting toward the end of it's run.

October 17, 2009 - Ruby red, bing cherry and lighter fruits with a vanilla note. A little thin on the mid and a nice finish, medium tannins. I'd like a few more of these.

October 4, 2009 - Pulled for dinner with Tim and Nancy. French onion soup and mushroom risotto.

August 14, 2009 - There must be some serious bottle variation here. The one I had last night was delicious: a warm briar patch of red fruit, slightly but not overly jammy, with a slice of buttered cinnamon toast on the midpalate and a chunk of milk chocolate on the finish. That's a huge contrast to some of the other reviews here, and does not even seem like it could be the same wine that Wine Spectator called "lean," "bitter" and "herbal" in a 77-point review last year. Temperature may explain some of it -- I drank this close to room temperature, whereas cellar temperature might bring out more of the wine's briary side. Some time open also seemed to help this wine -- that could account for why some found it tastier at the winery than at home. Still, it is distressing to see such seemingly contradictory reviews on a single wine. Life's little mysteries...
