January 26, 2019 - Beautiful wine with strong tannins, decanted for 3 hours

May 15, 2018 - Barolo & Barbaresco $50 Double Blind (Bin 75 Alpharetta, GA): Darker brown core with large brick rim; aged, soy, teetering on the edge, spice, very dried cherry, tar, roses, earth, slight liqueur, menthol; very nice on the palate, sweeter fruit, meaty earthy mix, beef bouillon, good mid, balsamico, tasty and satisfying though not as good as previous bottle; also nailed it.

August 29, 2017 - Tuesday Night Double Blind $50+ (Alpharetta, GA): Cloudy brick crimson core with orange rim; strawberry, soft sexy cherry, older Nebbiolo but still a youthful candied rose, cinnamon, elegant, subtle burnt orange; very savory on the palate, herbs, fine wall of tannin; delicious; another person and I at different times called this as 2007 Giacosa Asili (warm year) though I felt it was deserving of the Red Label; great stuff!

April 2, 2017 - This is an amazingly well made wine in my opinion, easily the best modern style Barolo I've had so far this year. Comes out of the bottle with absolute telltale signs of the region - medium dark ruby red with just ever slight bricking (not much for a 17 year old wine though). Nose is admittedly hard to coax out at first, but eventually displays restrained notes of rose petal and dark cherry. On the palate, the cacophony of flavours is tremendous: cinnamon, leather, spices, with medium-dark red fruits providing a balanced backdrop. Tannins are present but well integrated at this point; finish is a very enjoyable 30 seconds. The status of "Riserva" definitely lives up to its name here, as you could tell the fruit selection was likely very strong. We drank from an impeccably stored bottle so maybe thats why my enjoyment was more pronounced than other reviewers. Drank not decanted but lingered in glass for 30 minutes. Just terrific.
