December 13, 2023 - Solid but not extraordinary.

July 3, 2023 - Very pleasant Dolcetto with powerful combinations of berries and red fruit. Hints of synthetic sweetness which makes it beautiful for a hot summer day when served cold. Also notes of flowers (elderflower). 90p.

April 24, 2023 - Nose: juicy dark garden berries, dark rose, fresh minty herb thing, yogurt.

Palet: Tingeling acid, medium + tannin.
Nose transfers nicely to the palet with juicy dark garden berries, with a long tasty aftertaste.

May 14, 2022 - E2's birthday party at Wimborne. Drank in Grassl Cru.
Appearance is clear medium intensity, bright ruby colour. Legs.
Nose is clean, pronounced intensity, with aromas of explosive wold berries, wild dark cherries, red florals and violet, stony minerality background. Youthful.
On the palate, dry, high acidity, medium alcohol (13.5%), fine silky high tannins, medium+ body. Medium+ flavour intensity, with flavours of wild dark red cherries, sweet wild berries, boysenberries, dark red plum, stony minerals in background. Sweet medium+ finish.
Very good quality. Solid elegant Dolcetto. Could age and develop a bit over the next few years also. But already quite irresistable drinking now.

Wow. Approachable from the get go this is a lovely wine which feels “complete.”
Feminine complexity on the nose, roses, spice, Amarene kirschen, dark cherries, lipstick, but also hints of other things, dark humus earth, forest floor and a hint of mint. Trying to describe it is difficult as you keep catching hints of other things, and you think you can’t detect at all what you’ve just described... Initially very evocative of a cru Beaujolais, but increasingly more of a savoury, herbal background pokes through.
The palate is similarly difficult to pin down, occasional hints of astringent tannins but mostly weightless. Dark cherries, powdery minerals, Provençal herbs, overall quite savoury. But very memorable and delicious.
