July 27, 2022 - Pretty awful. Not even a good cellar defender. Had half a glass and poured the rest out.

September 25, 2021 - Bottled under screwcap and comprised of 100% Cabernet Sauvignon that was aged for nine months in a combination of French and American oak, this opaque crimson wine was opened, poured and consumed over the ensuing three hours. Offering aromas of black cherries, cassis, bark, allspice and cedar, it delivers comparable flavors on the medium-bodied palate. The alcohol (13.9%), tannins and wood are well-integrated, the mid-palate solid and the finish medium in length. This inexpensive Cab is well-worthy of its sticker. It would have benefitted from Vinturi or splash-decanting, as it continued to evolve throughout the tasting interval. Enjoy it over the next five years. Drink now-2026.

August 25, 2020 - Retail $22. 100% Cabernet Sauvignon. Cabs are tough. Not in an abstract way, but due to the fact that there are SO many at just about every price point, and don't even get me started on "style." I'm a firm believer that Cabs should be evaluated not as a variety, but rather in regards to their relative "quality" (i.e., price). In other words, this is not a $100 (or more) Cab. It's a wine that, with a little bit of effort, one could find for under twenty bucks. Given that paradigm? This is pretty darned good. Fruity, spicy, nuanced (somewhat), and tart, this is an easy choice when the in-laws are coming over for pizza. Or short-ribs. Or to give you their unsolicited opinion. thedrunkencyclist.com

August 3, 2020 - If this is the reserve, I'd hate to taste the non-reserve. There are no distintive qualities to this Cab. Typical box or value wine quality with no clarity or layers of flavor. Short, flat finish. Not even worth the low price.

April 19, 2020 - River Road wines: Medium purple color. Nose of black currants, raspberry jam, cranberry relish, with menthol, earth and clove. Fresh acidity frames the wine well, dusty tannins, a medium-bodied with with juicy red fruit (raspberry, tangy currants). Notes of spicy tobacco, menthol, tilled soil and clay round out this wine. Fun, fresh stuff for the price. Aged nine months in French and American oak.
