Community Tasting Notes 10

December 31, 2022 - This was decanted for two hours prior to consumption. Aromas are a bit restrained, but offer some darkly complected berries, including black raspberries, black cherry meat, and some minerals. Very tight with lots of acid on the palate and it carries into the finish. The whole thing feels incredibly tightly wound... I swear more so than the one I had two years ago (but I didn't note that bottle). The wine is completely in tact and sound. The pretty raspberries are present, but they are fairly hidden. I'm a little confused by this... would have thought this would have begun to turn the corner. The structural integrity and integration are nice, and I appreciate that, but the fruit is either still hiding or is just not enough to balance the structure. Sooo... not too sure where this is going. But I think I'll wait at least three years before my next bottle.

November 27, 2015 - Classic Margaux nose with espresso and tinder box. Primary dark fruits, espresso, blackcurrant, and firm tannins with a long finish. Everything I love about Bordeaux.

May 2, 2015 - Nice healthy very dark ruby. Closed on the nose with just light dandelion and dark chocolate. Heavily oaked. Light palate of blackberry, anise, some peach, cherry pits, minerals, black olive tapenade, dark chocolate, caramel and Bazooka bubble gum. Needs 3-4 hours decant to lose the tannic edge. Still a bit too tart even with air.

November 27, 2014 - Very popular at the Thanksgiving table. PnP. Classic Bordeaux. Good balance.
