October 27, 2020 - Lots of dark ripe fruit, lots of tannin present on the finish, could use some time to open up. Will surely be more expressive with air and/or a few more years in the bottle, but still very delicious!

Drank the second half of this bottle a few days later (used coravin on the first half) and gave it 3 hours to breathe in the decanter this time around. Big improvement.

October 25, 2020 - i like it, but I find the wine very difficult to assess - drunk over two days, it was nicer on day one, clearly well made with lovely balance, not a lot of complexity though, it had faded to almost nothing on the second day

    September 22, 2020 - Surprisingly one dimensional
Over three hours, I felt like I was drinking a woody cabernet sauvignon

June 4, 2020 - Fruit and tannins both tailing off as expected but fully integrated and beautifully lifted. No off notes that can be experienced with older Barolo--very pure and no bricking whatsoever.

    December 28, 2019 - Well that sucked.
When I took off the foil, there was a streak of wine all over the top of the cork. It came out okay, but there was no nose at all. On first sip there was nothing. No vinegar, just nothing, almost like water. Decided to decant to see what would happen. Moved on to Conteisa. Once that was finished went back to this. It started to develop some flavor. Some red cherry, smooth tannins and decent acidity. Ended up barely okay; clearly not a 100 point wine and clearly underperformed the price. But that is the wine adventure, sometimes you get blown away when you don’t expect it and sometimes the bottle is flawed.

12/29/19. There was still a half bottle in the decanter the next morning. And it was a belated Christmas miracle. As I was going to dump it, I noticed a wonderful aroma. A quick sip revealed a lovely delicate wine. Red fruit, flowers, balanced. Returned it to the bottle, (it was 7 AM after all) and drank that night.
This was not what I am sure it was before it was damaged, but it amazingly came back to life and was very nice. As disappointing as this was the night before, it was just as pleasing to see the metamorphosis.
