December 31, 2020 - Golden color, slightly viscous. Apricots and caramel. Paired wonderfully with foie gras in the cold barn venue.
July 15, 2020 - Nose: 89 Palate: 90
May 24, 2020 - PnP from 750ml; fantastic, youthful color, solid fill. Pretty much everything one could ask for in a 30+ yr old Sauternes: fresh, balanced acidity/sweetness/long elegant finish. So classy. Seemed to be calling out for nuts and cheeses, but this was just great on its own, too. Drink now and the next 5-10 years; still in its preferred zone for my palate. 14,5% abv. recommended
February 15, 2020 - Pleasant, rich, full, and tropical but with a fair amount of caramel. Late in the night and I was not making detailed notes at this point.
December 22, 2019 - Just perfect for drinking :-) wow!
October 19, 2019 - Stored in a cold cellar since release. Perfect condition. Pale. Initially rather dumb. Slowly gained in depth and complexity over 2 days. Light, good botrytis, lovely sweet fruit. Excellent length. A little odd!
Seems to have years of life left.
August 14, 2019 - Fantastische Sauternes. Groots!
April 13, 2019 - Still going strong. Elements of apricots and tropical fruits. Bright and alive, enjoyable, fair complexity.
March 1, 2019 - Honey color. On its last legs but still some nice apricot and honey elements. Drink up in 750 format.
January 6, 2019 - Its color was rather light golden yellow than amber. In the nose, it was very spicy with an overload of saffron and also some citrus fruit like grapefruit and tangerine, not a lot of botrytis, only a tiny bit of creamy honey. In the mouth, it was wonderful, super fresh, but super complex at the same time, fresh acidity, lush, but subtle sweetness (more the fruity kind of sweetness than the honey kind of sweetness) and a spicy and creamy finish. Awesome.
