October 12, 2023 - The 19 blew me away with its concentrated weightlessness goodness...this 18 is all about subtlety and class! Needs air...first thoughts are cold steel and rain water...comes out quiet and reserved...nothing flashy or attention getting...you just nod your head and acknowledge how suave and cool this dude is! Subtle reduction, crystalline pear and apple fruits with a little squeeze of grapefruit...candied lemon pucker...creamy white flower florals...crushed minerality showing that wonderful dryness and salted spice...really flows in and out slowly and gracefully like the fog by the sea...finishes calm and satisfying...and before you know it, the bottle is empty. Fascinating wine!

September 24, 2023 - Prep: Decanted an hour before first tasting.
    Glassware: Grassl Cru

A delicate and shy wine, with subtle flint minerality on the nose opening up to a core of green apple, white peach, kiwi, hazelnut, and white flowers. On the lighter end of medium-bodied. The wine is super elegant and lithe on the palate, which is all about the minerality, and carries some subtle apple and pear notes that linger on the finish. At 12.6% alcohol this is very easy drinking; I paired it with a chicken dish but a light seafood dish would’ve been a better choice.

August 27, 2023 - A little shy at first, this showed much more complexity as it got some air and warmed slightly. Light and elegant, should age nicely.

August 20, 2023 - Tasted after 40 minutes of air. Starting to open up. Don't pop and pour with this. It needs some time to show its best. Tangy apple and pear fruit. Plenty of oomph on the mid palate. Rich. Some saline notes. Very persistent on the palate. Excellent.
