January 26, 2024 - Prior bottle was 23 months ago and this wine is showing quite well, having evolved positively along the lines I'd expected. Nose was very similar to prior bottle with lots of red cherry, a black cherry undercurrent and a mix of spices and earth. Close to medium bodied and upfront, continues to show red cherry with both brighter qualities and more rounded, open notes. Mid-body adds a touch of additional depth as well as darker red cherry and light red raspberry; slightly more open and expressive than previously. Backside shows fine grained tannins, acidity, tart red cherry and minerals, earth and spices through the finish. As I'd hoped, the mid-body has opened up and integration between fruit and structure has improved. I would expect the wine could continue to take small positive steps forward and should show well over the next 2-3 years. I may open my next bottle in either Q4 2024 or Q1 2025.

June 21, 2023 - Once again, Gavin shows that he really knows what he’s doing! Waited 18 months since the last bottle and it was time well spent in the bottle! Fruit was still light - cherry & raspberry for a nice bright “pop” on the front end. Just a hint of sweetness and maybe a little licorice on the back. Has a longer finish which made for a very enjoyable wine with dinner. Sad to be done with this vintage.

July 4, 2022 - I must have got a bad bottle because there was an aroma that was not good and it wasn't as bad when I tasted it but it was still there. Bummer.

February 25, 2022 - Red cherry, with some black cherry notes behind along with spice and earth qualities on the nose. Just short of medium bodied (13% ABV) with rounded red cherry upfront, with some bright red cherry highlights. Mid-body brings in some darker red cherry along with light red raspberry. Balanced tannins and good acidity on the backside. Really good integration and length on the finish with a mix of earth, spices and minerals that lasts and lasts. With a bit more time, I expect the mid-body will open up a bit more and blend a touch better with the backside. Combine that with what's already an excellent finish and I see good potential here in the future. Next bottle for me, Q1 2023.
