Community Tasting Notes 5

July 3, 2020 - Color surprisingly showing few signs of age. Decanted 1 hour. Tertiary nose with herbal-dominant notes of coriander, leaves etc. I normally like this characteristic but there was too little fruit to balance it. Probably past its prime but still enjoyable in the glass. On the palate, there is still some structure which surprised me. Got better as it breathed. Some left for tomorrow.

July 1, 2013 - Deep color with nose of fig and oak. Fig, chocolate and dark cherry on the nose. The one has beautiful balance with a long lasting finish.

March 17, 2013 - This really shocked me. The initial nose was somewhat awkward and tasted dry and gritty. After about 30 minutes it opened up further to a deep aromatic, still dry but slightly dusty mouthfeel that was balanced, rich and unique in it's blend of Cab Franc, Cab Sauv and Merlot. This bottle was a delicious and classy accompaniment to steak and salmon. Had only intended a glass or so but we couldn't put it down. Bravo to the winemakers here.

February 22, 2013 - A little to creamy and oaky for my liking.

October 28, 2009 - Popped and poured this wine for a few games of scrabble. Slow moving nose opened up to wonderful aromas of chocolate covered cherries with a spicey overlay. We absolutely enjoyed this bottle over a two hour period. It continued to open as it gained some air time but unfortunately, the scrabble match became intense and required a second bottle of a talley pinot.
My girlfriend and I arrived at 91 although she lobbied hard for a higher score. We just didn't give it the time it deserved.
Looking for more but torn over the now $50 tag.
