March 31, 2024 - Had a lot left for nearly 25 years in the bottle
January 4, 2023 - Fully mature California Cabernet. Good, but not great. Maybe it would have better younger. The wine has wonderful aromas of violates and black fruit. It tastes of cassis, blackberries, black cherries, graphite, and mocha. Medium to full bodied and rich. This cab has all the right pieces, but it’s not in harmony. It’s lacking in complexity, cohesiveness, and balance. I enjoyed this bottle less than my prior one, only a few months ago. I recommend to drink up now.

October 9, 2022 - Fully mature California Cab; at peak or just over. Nice dark violet to ruby red color with no signs of its age.
Very fruity with aromas and tastes of blackberries, cassis, and black cherry. Tertiary tastes of pencil shavings noted. Medium bodied with a nice mouthfeel. Fair acidity. Drink now; it’s not getting any better.
April 24, 2022 - PNP out of the cellar. Cork fully intact, probably didn’t need the ah-so. Some sediment on the cork and infiltrated about 1/4”.
Bright but opaque magenta with maybe a slight amount of bricking. Sour cherry, a bit of plum, chocolate, cedar and cola on the nose all come through to the palate. Tannins are smooth and balanced with the acidity. Drinking so very well. Wish I had another! :-(
Don’t think it will change much. Smoke ‘‘em if you got ‘em.
December 25, 2021 - This wine was amazing - vibrant and balanced - well structured right on opening - for sons birth year! black cherry, cranberry stood out - but you know it's Silver Oak right away. Cork was perfect but likely because I brought it right home from the winery on release day.

The second night: Too much herbal bell pepper on the nose and palate, the fruit, flavors, and richness were still present but muted, time to drink up and enjoy this wine is now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

December 27, 2020 - As a newly married couple living in a mediocre (at best) one bedroom apartment, we started out pretty low to the ground. My lovely wife worked shifts at a high-end hotel bar and, one late evening, was allowed to bring home a half-full bottle of Silver Oak left by a guest. We stayed up late and drank it slooooowly.
We've built something special together, and the sentiment of that first "high end" bottle we shared became a funny tradition for us. One evening, years later, during a very busy season with the kids and family, there was only time for takeout burgers (In-N-Out had just come to town). I knew it would cheer my wife up, so I popped the cork on an old SO. It really did the trick.
My palate has evolved, but I still keep some older bottles of Silver Oak around to add some cheer to those occasional "take-out burger" days.
Today was one of those days... like the two of us, it is still a great pairing.
December 19, 2020 - Very well made, balanced and silky. Improved when opened for more than an hour.
