August 20, 2022 - Needs more time or long decant.

June 21, 2022 - Large scaled in every way. Jammy to the point of pushing porty, and has a blowsy level of alcohol sticking out. That said this had a silky roundness the the edges that is very pleasing and an intense acidity and tannin in the backbone. The ABV is high, but with a few years this may come into some balance.

Plenty of other places to look on Pritchard Hill in 2018 at this price point.

June 19, 2022 - I love most of the 2018s coming from Pritchard Hill, and this is no exception: ripe, open-knit, dense without being jammy, this wine is incredible in the early going. This is more fruity than most of its neighbors (e.g., Continuum, Ovid), but it belongs among the big boys (ironically enough, the only 2018 Pritchard Hill I've tried so far that I preferred was from Realm, which recently purchased the vineyard).

Dark purple in color and full in body (tear drops on glass), the wine offers aromas of black cherry, espresso, anise, and gravel. The flavors are more forward, with notes of blackberry, chocolate shavings, peppercorn, and dried oregano, with a fulsome finish (read: ripe fruit, dry tannin, medium acidity... goes down quite easily). Blend of 75% Cabernet Sauvignon, 23% Cabernet Franc, and 2% Petit Verdot. 15.3% alcohol. Tasty now, but ideally wait until 2024 or later. Made by Philippe Melka.

November 25, 2021 - Thanksgiving Napa tasting (Napa Grill (Zurich)): Intense lush fruit of dark cherry, dark herbs, spice, Generous and well-balanced, muscular yet athletic. Another great Nine Suns.
