January 25, 2024 - Better than expected. Good drinking here.

Savoury but not as dry as some 2006. Flavoursome good food wine.

Perhaps the earlier comments were during a closed period in its development.

    13.5%, cork.

December 24, 2020 - Subtle and slight with good balance. Savoury profile with a little saddle leather and vegetal, herbal notes and some dried blueberries on the finish. Thought-provoking but ultimately just a little lean for my palate. Drink now.

December 13, 2020 - Medium deep to deep black cherry red, nose is cigar box, sweet cassis - on the palate, quite smooth, almost plush, with reserved tannins for structure, good length. Spice, some oak notes, good fruit and a fresh finish. Drinking really well, but no huge rush. Better showing than I was expecting based on previous comments.

August 16, 2020 - Good wine without having any complexity to be excellent. Nothing wrong but could be a Bordeaux blend from anywhere!

May 18, 2020 - Similar to my earlier bottles, maybe a little better. The experience is like a middling Cru Bourgeois of, say, 2012. It is as if the development of the wine stopped at about 6-8 years of age; the colour is still deep but there is no complexity.

June 7, 2019 - I have to agree with BRUSSLES 1049 - this wine was a disappointment. I feel I've had much better wines from Ferriere in the past however this one was thin and tasted almost watered down. There wasn't any depth and the nose was lacking. The first taste had an astringent character that was off-putting.

Not the worst wine but I definitely had higher expectation from Ferriere.

January 27, 2019 - Consistent with my earlier note, rather light, drying out on palate, something of a disappointment for the vintage and classification of wine. if tasted blind I would never have guessed this was a classed growth.

June 3, 2018 - Still quite a deep colour. Cedary, high-toned nose (for which it was much praised in the 2006 en primeur campaign). Smooth but rather dry on the palate, there is not much fruit forthcoming and beyond a hint of liquorice, little in the way of complexity. It opened up a little over the course of dinner, but I don't think this will improve with keeping, so in the context of the vintage and classification of the wine, rather disappointing.

November 20, 2016 - Aroma: floral, graphite, fruity
Taste: juicy fruity with dry tannins, with a thinning finish

Conc: enjoyable at 10years and still youthful but don't see a lot of structure for long term

November 4, 2016 - The nose is fairly discreet, with notes of red currants. The palate is a bit more interesting, with notes of peppers, red currants, and a rhubarb finish. Acidity dominates the soft tannins on the finish as well, which is a bit surprising given the predominance of cabernet sauvignon in the blend. This may be an indication of a slightly inferior vintage?
